LSYZ series Metal gaskets
Traditional mica graphite filler is only a mixture of graphite and mica materials, compared with traditional graphite filler, it can only moderately raise the upper temperature limit.

Spiral wound gaskets are made from an alternate combination of preformed engineered metal tape and a more compressed-in filler material, resulting in excellent sealing when compressed. The engineered shape of the metal strip acts as a spring under load, resulting in a very elastic seal under a variety of conditions. Strip metallurgy and packing materials can be selected for a wide range of seal applications.

composition
SWGS achieve an initial seal with very low seat stress and provide a tighter seal than typical low stress spiral wound shims and other high temperature alternatives. Our advanced manufacturing process enables all SWGS to perform better in low bolt stress applications while maintaining seal integrity under normal conditions.

Mica-graphite filled spiral wound gaskets are made of a graphite filled layer surrounded by a pure mica filled layer. This construction method improves the performance of the gasket in many ways without increasing the expense of special filling materials offered by competing brands.

Advantages:
• Pure mica layer protects graphite from rapid oxidation at temperatures up to 760°C (1,400 °F)
• Mica provides enhanced fire protection
• No need for many high temperature and high cost special gaskets
