Dave Bamforth from specialist car restoration and repair company Sunbeam-Talbot Spares (Barnsley, UK) came to us and they struggled to find suitable alternative mechanical seals for the pumps in the 1950s Sunbeam-Talbot® 90 Mk2A (right picture).

Producing direct substitutes is one solution, but the cost involved in manufacturing our individual custom seals is certainly not feasible.

In order to find a better solution, our technicians worked with Dave and on the same day we proposed a quick and minor modification to the car water pump. This allows for the installation of one of our standard series, stock guaranteed mechanical seals: Type 73 LESEI seals (pictured left).

Dave received the seal the next day, and the pump was quickly repaired and running again, with no leaks.

This saves Sunbeam-Talbot a lot of time and cost in restoring the classic car and will help with such repairs in the future.
